Peabody senior center

Does it seem to you that January is slipping by? Guess it’s true that as we get older time really does fly.

Peabody Health and Rehab sent two nurses to take blood pressure readings before our Birthday Dinner. Dr, Whitely gave a program on Influenza and Sonja Koslowsky played the piano beautifully. It was good to see everyone taking the time to visit and enjoying their day.

Dawn Miller, from Angels, came to tak blood pressure readings on Thursday before lunch. We seemed to have a different crowd than the day before so it worked out real well. Shan Copeland, PACE, gave a program and played BINGO with our diners.

Peabody Health and Rehab will have a therapist come to our center on Wednesday, Jan. 16. The therapist will lead a therapy exercise program at 10:30 a.m. We hope this will be an ongoing class and will be discussing how often they will come.

Don’t forget we will be closed on Monday, Jan. 21 which is Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Melany Ink of TCT will be here on Wednesday, Jan. 23 to talk about NexTech wireless to discuss their cell phones and plans.

We’re still needing a volunteer on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays to come and help in the kitchen. Are you available one of those days? Call or come on by. We’ll be looking for you.

January menus are available so please come by and pick one up.

Meals are $3.50 for 60 and over and $5.25 for 59 and under. Be sure to call and make a reservation.

Take advantage of our Meals on Wheels program. Please call 620-983-2226 for information.
