HILLSBORO SENIOR CENTER

The center is closed Monday, May 25, for Memorial Day.

Haris Zafar will provide hearing aid checks on May 20.

June menus are now available and we encourage everyone to stop by and pick one. We look forward to seeing you.

Suggestions are sought for programs to share at the center. If anyone plays an instrument, sings or wants to talk about a trip or tell funny stories, we would like to hear from them. Anyone interested in more information is asked to call.

We also want to thank those for donating to the senior center. All donations help with monthly expenses so that the center can continue.

We continue to look for volunteers to help us. Right now we need the chairs around the tables cleaned. If someone wants to volunteer their time, please let us know. Volunteers will receive their meal free for helping.

Come join us for a meal soon. The suggested cost for people 60 and older is $3.15, and for those 59 and younger, $5.

For more information or to volunteer, stop by 212 N. Main St. or call 620-947-2304 between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m.

We hope to see you soon.

MARION SENIOR CENTER

We are in the middle of distributing commodities. If anyone is unable to come in, someone else can fill out a proxy form and bring the box to them.

We enjoyed another birthday with members of Aulne United Methodist Church, and we all sang May 7 to Leonard Smith, who was honored.

We shared some Mother?s Day readings May 8 and Connie Fisher led us in singing ?M is for the Million Things She Gave Me.?

On May 13 we welcomed residents of Hilltop Manor.

They came for the program given by Dan White playing the musical saw.

Commodities came in that day and were quickly boxed up by Sue Clough, Vickie Kaempfe, Jackie Hett, and Kathy Beeton. Gene Winkler, Al Ash and Bill Kaempfe helped unload.

Come join us May 27 when Jen McGill of Catholic Charities in Wichita will have the program after lunch.

The suggested price for meals is $3.15 for seniors 60 and older, and $5 for anyone 59 and younger.

For more information or to make a reservation, call 620-382-2942, or stop by 309 S. Third St., Marion.

PEABODY SENIOR CENTER

May is continuing on at a very rapid pace.

Bingo is Thursday, May 21, and we would like to see a better turn out. Some of our regular players have had life changes and aren’t able to attend leaving us sparse for players. We?ve even had to cancel the game sometimes.

Our Memorial Day weekend brunch is at 9:30 a.m. Friday, May 22. We are serving biscuits with sausage gravy, blueberry muffins, and fresh fruit. Make your reservations and come share brunch with us.

The center is closed Monday, May 25, for Memorial Day.

We will not serve lunch or deliver, but frozen meals are available. We will be sending them out Wednesday, May 20, but for those who missed the deadline, we can still send them Thursday with the deliveries. Just give us a call.

Mark your calendar for our fundraising event from 5:30-7 p.m. June 10. We will have hamburgers or hot dogs, potato salad, baked beans and dessert.

In addition entertainment is from 6-6:45 p.m. featuring music by the McKinney sisters, who are prize-winning bluegrass musicians. It should be real treat. No reservations are needed.

The cost is by donation. Please come out and support our senior center, and have a great evening.

June calendars are out and can be picked up at the center, 106 N. Walnut or call us at 620-983-2226 to make reservations for any of our regular midday meals.
