HILLSBORO SENIOR CENTER

March menus are completed and available to anyone wanting to stop by and pick one up.

We are having our breakfast fundraiser from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, at the center. The menu includes waffles and Hills?boro sausage for $6. It will be a great time to visit with friends and family while enjoying breakfast. In addition to that, those attending are helping support their senior center.

Bingo will be Wednesday, Feb. 25, after the noon meal, and Friday, Feb. 27, anyone attending is asked to wear their favorite scarf or tie. It should be fun seeing all the different accessories.

This is also a good way to involve the men, too.

Everyone is welcome at the senior center no matter what their age. We all enjoy the fellowship and hearing or telling stories.

The cost for those age 60 and older is $3.15 and anyone 59 and under is $5. It?s a good deal.

For those who want to volunteer one or more days, we would like having you.

Please let us know if you can help from 11 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Anyone who helps will get their meal free that day. We have great fellowship and a lot of fun.

We are always looking for program ideas, too. Programs can range from music and crafts to quilting, trips and more.

In addition, the presenter?s meal is free the day of their program.

For more information or to volunteer, please stop by 212 N. Main St. or call 620-947-2304 between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m.

We hope to see you soon.

MARION SENIOR CENTER

We celebrate Valentine?s Day on Feb. 13 with a Valentine at each person?s place.

We played music by various crooners like Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Andy Williams and others.

We had Valentin knock-knock jokes and ?Why chocolate is a vegetable.?

We also sent Valentines to our Meals on Wheels customers created by Mrs. Hall?s second grade class and Mrs. Cooper?s fifth grade class. Lindsay Hett, teacher?s aide, was the contact person.

Jerry Kline celebrated his birthday with us Feb. 17 and his wife, Norma, brought baked cookies.

Senior Center Day was Feb. 18. Vice-president Rhonda Brenzikofer conducted the business meeting. We sang happy birthday to Virginia Downing, and remembered Ivanlee Timm, who shares the birthday.

Mayor Todd Heitschmidt and City Administrator Roger Holter provided the program, and the vision for the city.

Come join us March 4. The program will be given by a mobility specialist from Hatfield mobility in Salina.

For more information, call 620-382-2942 or stop by the center at 309 S. Third St., Marion.

PEABODY SENIOR CENTER

Lenten devotions continue this Wednesday after the midday lunch until Easter.

These are wonderful devotions that help us to remember the time leading up to the death and resurrection of Christ.

Pastor Jim Pohlman will be speaking on Wednesday, Feb. 25.

If you are unable to join us for lunch, we still encourage you to join us for the devotion at about noon each Wednesday.

We always are excited to have you come and eat with us.

Our meals are $3.15 for seniors 60 and older, and only $5 for all others, which is still quite the bargain.

Call and leave a message at 620-983-2226 if you would like to reserve a meal if we are not there.

We are located at 106 N. Walnut, and would like others to come see us.
