PEABODY SENIOR CENTER

We had a little rain, hail and some ice on Friday. Schools were let out in the early afternoon, a skiff of snow on Saturday morning and the storm has moved on. We needed the moisture so we really can’t complain and it is winter, right?

We had our Birthday Dinner last Wednesday with Rachel Gfeller giving chair massages, Joan Stovall playing the piano, and Barb Smith gave a beautiful program on her trip to Iceland.

Myrta Billings started a K-State Nutrition program last Thursday. She will be here every Thursday until Feb. 23.

Jaime Garcia, (Angels) was here Thursday before lunch and took blood pressure readings for anyone who wanted it taken.

Jaime and Christina will be here Feb. 13 before lunch to take your blood pressure. Angels comes the second Thursday. of each month.

Grief Share is from 3-4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 14, 3-4:30. Anyone can come and take part in the meeting.

Don’t forget that we will be closed on Jan. 20 for the Martin Luther King Holiday.

There will be no Meals on Wheels delivered on Jan. 29.

Gayla Ratzlaff will be here from 8:30 a.m. to noon for LEAP and if you bring your tax information, she will take them with her and then let you know when they are finished. Call us at the Center (620-983-2226) and set up a time that will be good for you. It takes her about 15 minutes per person.

We can always use volunteers in the kitchen. Give us a call if you can spare a couple of hours. It’s more fun when there are two working in the kitchen.
