Jan. 19: Investigated juvenile runaway complaint. Investigated altercation at Tabor College gymnasium after basketball game. Traffic enforcement stop on equipment violation.
Jan. 20: Patrolled school zones. Searched for K9 that got away from owner. Traffic enforcement stop on handicap parking violation. Report on non-injury accident. Assisted Marion County Sheriff?s office with motorist assist on U.S. Highway 56.
Jan. 21: Patrolled school zones. Traffic enforcement stop for equipment violation. Investigated pitbull violation.
Jan. 22: Traffic enforcement stop for speeding violation (three times). Complaint of possible drug activity. Assisted motorists twice. Patrolled school zones. Follow-up on pitbull violation; dog removed from city limits. Drug investigation resulted in seizure of marijuana and paraphernalia; juvenile charges pending.
Jan. 23: Patrolled school zones. Funeral escort. Report of scooter theft; recovered. Investigated peddler?s permit violation. Two curfew violations.
Jan. 24: Monitored basketball games.
Jan. 25: Worked on Drug Abuse Resistance Education program, also known as DARE. Traffic enforcement stop for parking violation.

Daily log, Jan. 4-14
Jan. 4: Traffic stop failure to yield; found marijuana and pipe; subject arrested. Delayed non-injury accident because of road conditions. Contacted outside agency regarding narcotics investigation. K9 training; successful on all four odors. Traffic stop for speed violation.
Jan. 5: Report of coyote attacking family dog. Domestic battery reported. Patrolled school zones. Accident report filed. Walked through Marion Elementary School, Marion High School. Missing person report filed.
Jan. 6: Suspicious person reported; subject asked to go home. Welfare check in the 300 block of North Third and 700 block of Sherman; all OK at both locations. Complaint of intoxicated man; resident asked him to leave and he wouldn?t go; went home; asked to not go back to resident?s house.
Jan. 7: Searched 100 block of West Jefferson for wanted suspect. Attended Ministerial Alliance meeting at Emmanuel Baptist Church. Preliminary trial at Marion District Court. Searched residence for subject with felony warrant; unable to locate.
Jan. 8: Finished end-of-year reports. Call in reference to seized property. Spoke to citizen regarding animal neglect. ?Stranger Danger? presentation at MES. Worked accident on private property.
Jan. 9: Ambulance assist in the 200 block of North Fourth Street; unloaded patient at St. Luke Hospital. Moved speed sign to city shop to charge batteries. Met with Kansas Bureau of Investigations at Marion Police Department; assisted other agencies with auto theft case.
Jan. 10: Report of unattended death in the 300 block of South Lincoln. Civil standby. Motorist warned of illegal parking.
Jan. 11: Checked school buildings. Returned lost wallet.
Jan. 12: Served process removal of guns per court order on domestic case. False alarm at Casey?s General Store; employee opening kitchen. Received child abuse call. Burglary, theft in the 300 block of South Lincoln. Welfare check; door ajar.
Jan. 13: House watch in the 800 block of Welch. Nuisance property citation in the 100 block of North Roosevelt; no contact. Barking dog complaint in the 100 block of South Freeborn.
Jan. 14: Report of homeless man traveling through Marion; was taken to Newton Homeless Shelter. Civil standby.
