Accidents
At 7:15 a.m. Feb. 1, Tiffany Renee Miler, 21, Peabody, was driving a 1998 Acura CL with passenger Kyle Fistler, 21, Peabody. The vehicle was southbound on Nighthawk when a deer entered the roadway on the driver?s side. The driver swerved and was headed for a light pole when the passenger grabbed the steering wheel and jerked it, causing the vehicle to turn and enter the left field. The back of the car then struck the light pole. Deputy Wilma Mueller investigated.
At 6:30 p.m. Feb. 2, Vickie L. Hiebert, 47, Canton, was driving a 2007 Honda Odyssey with passenger Ashley Hiebert, 17. The vehicle was westbound on 120th about 1/2 mile east of Goldenrod when it struck a coyote that entered the roadway from the ditch. Deputy Wilma Mueller investigated.
At 7:35 a.m. Feb. 16, Barbara S. Doherty, 50, Wichita, was driving a 2008 Ford Crown Victoria northbound on Indigo, when she lost control on the icy roadway and went sideways into the west ditch striking a road sign and tree. Undersheriff David V. Huntley investigated.
At 8:28 a.m. Feb. 16, Linda J. Aylward, 55, Solomon, was driving a 2005 Toyota Camry southbound on Nighthawk when she lost control on the icy roadway entering a curve. The vehicle went into the east ditch, striking a county curve sign, and overturned. Undersheriff David V. Huntley investigated.
At 7:15 a.m. Feb. 17, Gretchen Leigh Wagner, 24, Goessel, was driving a 2001 Oldsmobile Aurora eastbound on 120th when a deer entered the roadway from the north. The driver was unable to avoid striking the deer. Deputy Wilma Mueller investigated.
