Old buildings in Hillsboro torn down

The red brick building at 128 S. Main was torn down on June 2. Onlookers were entertained as a surprised raccoon popped out of the window and quickly bailed as workers destroyed the building. It is not yet clear what will happen with the space. Hillsboro City Administrator Matt Stiles said, “I have been in contact with an interested party that has shown interest in developing a small business in that spot. From an economic development prospective, putting the property to productive use would be a solid option as the public options are limited due to the size and location.”

An iconic building on the corner of Main and A in the Ford dealership parking lot was torn down on Wednesday. Spectators gathered around taking video and pictures as city employees demolished the long standing building.
