Melvin F. Jantzen

Melvin F. Jantzen, 92, died Feb. 8, 2021, at Moundridge Manor in Moundridge, Kan. He was born Dec. 27, 1928, in Protection, Kan., to Edgar and Lillie (Holbert) Jantzen.

He married Lena Koehn March 25, 1951, in Montezuma, Kan. She passed away in 1986. On Jan. 31, 1988, he married Velma Dyck in Hesston, Kan. She passed away in 2008.

Survivors include: daughter, Lea (Stuart) Isaac of Hillsboro; son, Scott Jantzen of Wichita, Daniel Jantzen; brothers, Kenneth Jantzen of Tulsa, Okla., Nelson Jantzen of Montezuma, Kan.; sister, Levina Schmidt of Montezuma; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Predeceased by a grandson, Jeremy Isaac, in 1993.

Funeral service 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 10, at Meridian Mennonite Church, rural Hesston, officiated by Ministers Shawn Giesel, Eldon Wenger and Kevin Unruh.

Committal service Thursday, Feb. 11, at 2 p.m. at Cimarron Mennonite Church of Cimarron, Kan. Memorials to Moundridge Manor in care of Jost Funeral Home, P.O. Box 266 Hillsboro, KS, 67063. Online condolences at www.jostfuneralhome.com.
