Marion FFA organizes collective booth at state fair

The Marion/Florence FFA Chapter organized and constructed a booth showcasing Agriculture in Marion County for the state fair county collective booth competition. Crops, grasses, fruits and vegetables are displayed in collective booths which are scored according to the variety and quality of the commodities which are shown. The booth from Marion County displayed 60 different samples and placed 2nd in the competition this year. It is displayed in the Kansas Showcase building across from the Bison Arena at the state fairgrounds.

Organizing a booth requires help from many people as crop and garden samples are obtained from local producers in the county. Producers that helped this year included Alan Hett, Jirak Brothers Produce, NM Patton, Clint &Marty Kroupa, Pam Byer, the Marion FFA Garden, Randy Svitak, Leonard Frantz, Jason Kruse, Gary Evans, Alex Jost, Keith Jost and Stuart Penner. FFA members Lexee Wickman, Ella Mackey, Miriam Mason and Ryliegh Holloway helped to set up the booth.
