Local business gives donation to HCH

Jim Sisson (Bomgaars) presented a check to Hillsboro Community Hospital & Clinic CNO D.J. Craighead and CEO Mark Rooker. The donation was from an event the store hosted.

The Hillsboro Bomgaars held a night of festive fun and fall shopping for ladies on Oct. 23. The store teamed up with local cancer centers, hospitals and organizations to raise awareness of women’s health issues as well as to pass along a 20% discount for the ladies in attendance for the event. A donation of the evening’s total sales was pledged back into the community to help local agencies.

As a result of the event, the store was able to donate $491.91 to Hillsboro Community Hospital & Clinic.

“We had a great response. We will continue to hold this annual event every October,” said Hillsboro Bomgaars Manager Jim Sisson.

107 Bomgaars locations across the nation participated in the event in their stores as well, and the organization as a whole donated a total of $113,035.71.
