HHS student Moriah Jost competed in the Kansas Entrepreneurship Challenge on April, 28. She finished in the second tier of the competition and was awarded $600.

On Thursday, April 28, Hillsboro student Moriah Jost went to Kansas State University and competed in the Kansas Entrepreneurship Challenge. She qualified for the challenge by winning the local Marion Entrepreneurship Challenge.

During the event, Moriah pitched her business idea to four different panels of judges. She was asked to provide a brief elevator pitch and answer a variety of questions regarding her business. The judges were comprised of different business people from the Manhattan area.

During the middle of the day, Jost also set up a booth/table for the Trade Show. About 100-150 students competed in the middle/high school entrepreneurship competition.

“It was an incredible opportunity for Moriah to showcase her business, and also learn and grow. The judges provided feedback that was very encouraging as well as very helpful for her improving her business,” said HHS Teacher Nathan Hiebert.

Jost finished in the second tier of the competition and was awarded $600.
