Help available in Marion County for those wanting to learn about health insurance

According to KS Health Matters, in 2019, 14.4% of adults in Marion County are uninsured and according to Kansas Action for Children, 5.8% of children under 19 in Marion County are uninsured. So K-State Research and Extension, Chisholm Trail District will be hosting a monthly event starting on July 28 to help people enroll in or learn more about health insurance with the Affordable Care Act and Medicaid. The ACA Marketplace Navigator and the KDHE Outreach Specialist who serve Marion County will be available to assist. Renae, Family Resource Management Agent for Chisholm Trail District will also be on hand to help.

This will become a monthly event, slated for 1-4 p.m. on the last Thursday afternoon of the month through the fall on a walk-in basis at the extension office at 1116 East Main in Marion. For questions about this event, please call Renae at the extension district’s Abilene office at 785-263-2001.
