GPFCU donates food in Marion County

Main Street Ministries Director Stephanie Moss (in hat) accepts generous food donations delivered by Great Plains Federal Credit Union General Branch Manager Elizabeth Wine. The donations were collected by employees during the month of May.

During the month of May, Great Plains Federal Credit Union (GPFCU) held a contest to see which office location could raise the most canned food per employee with each office location then donating what was raised to their local county food banks. There were 11 office locations which participated. Since there are two (2) food banks in Marion County, the Hillsboro branch decided to split the canned goods as equally as possible between Main Street Ministries in Hillsboro and the Marion County Food Bank in Marion, KS.

“When it was all said and done, approximately 4,800 cans of food was collected GPFCU wide. The Hillsboro branch raised 1,015 cans of food and placed 2nd in the overall rankings,” said Branch Manager Elizabeth Wine.
