Gerald Edward “Fuzzy” Weyand

Gerald Edward “Fuzzy” Weyand, 84, passed away Saturday, April 3, at his residence in Russell. He was born December 20, 1936 in Galva, KS to Herbert and Bertha (Ollek) Weyand. Gerald attended and graduated from Lehigh High School in 1954.
Gerald married Freda Mae Duffey on September 20, 1958 and made their home in Norton. Gerald and Freda enjoyed 62 years of marriage until her death in August 2020, after which he moved to Russell to be closer to family.
Survivors who will miss him dearly are his children, Carla (Richard) Miller of Russell, Curt (Michelle) Weyand of Manhattan, and Craig (Misty) Weyand of Salina; grandchildren: Ryan Miller, Rylee Miller, Corey Weyand, and Connor Weyand; great-grandchildren: Haley, Hunter, Paisley, Harlie and Chloe.
Funeral services were held 10:00 am Friday, April 9, 2021 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Norton. Burial was at 2:00 pm Friday, April 9 at the Kansas Veterans Cemetery at WaKeeney. Visitation was from 5-7:00 pm Thursday, April 8, 2021 at Plumer-Gobber Funeral Home, Norton. Memorial contributions may be made to Norton CARES or the Immanuel Lutheran Church.
