Schneider, Nuss plan summer wedding

Andrea Lynn Schneider and Scott Michael Nuss announce their engagement.

Parents of the bride-to-be are David and Holly Schneider of Tribune. Her grandparents are Richard and Linda Wendelburg, also of Tribune, and Ervin and Doris Schneider of Cache, Okla.

Parents of the groom-elect are Dale and Becky Nuss of Hillsboro. His grandparents are Lee and Pat Nuss and Ruby Suderman, all of HiIlsboro.

She is currently pursuing her graduate degree in industrial engineering at Kansas State University, Manhattan, and plans to graduate in May 2011.

He completed his master’s degree in sport administration from Wichita State University in 2009, and is currently working at Newman University, Wichita, as the sports information director.

The couple met while attending Southwestern College in Winfield where he graduated with a bachelor of arts in communications in 2007, and she completed her bachelor of arts in physics in 2009.

They are planning a summer 2011 wedding in Tribune.

 

Makovec, Schafer plan May wedding

Shaina Makovec and Cody Schafer of Tampa have announced their engagement.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Gail and Marissa Makovec of Ramona and granddaughter of Jane Makovec of Marion and the late F.J. (Skeeter) Makovec and Herman and Audrey Kukuk of Perry, Okla.

The groom-elect is the son of Gene Schafer of Durham and Vaughn and Dee Juhnke of Moundridge.

Grandparents are Perry and Irene Ratzloff of Hillsboro and the late George and Molly Schafer.

She is a 2005 graduate of Centre High School and 2009 graduate of Kansas State University with a bachelor’s degree in apparel and textile marketing. She is employed with a Texas company, traveling to markets around the United States selling the company’s products.

He is a 2000 graduate of Moundridge High School and a 2005 graduate of Tabor College with a bachelor’s degree in health, physical education and recreation. He is a self-employed farmer/rancher in Tampa.

The wedding is planned for May 8 at the Pilsen Catholic Church with a reception to follow.
