Viola Kelsey, 82

Viola M. Kelsey, 82, of Marion, homemaker and seamstress, died Jan. 18 at St. Luke?s Living Center in Marion.

The funeral was Jan. 21 at Marion Christian Church, officiated by pastor Carl Helm. She was buried at Marion Cemetery.

She was born July 2, 1925, to Frank and Katharina (Martens) Janzen in rural Marion. On Dec. 4, 1940, she was married to Donald D. Kelsey, who predeceased her in 1973.

She is survived by five sons, Bud and Tressie Kelsey of Marion, Gerald and Sharon Kelsey of Marion, Ron and Linn Kelsey of Solomon, and Randy and Kodi Kelsey of Marion; four daughters, Donna and Max Hayen of Marion, Neva and Lyndon Hett of Marion, Kathy and Mark Rathert of Greenwood Village, Colo., and Lori and Kevin Fruechting of Marion; a brother, Earl and Lucy Janzen of Peabody; a sister, Lorena Kelsey of Wichita; 21 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Memorial funds have been established with Marion Christian Church and Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice in care of Zeiner Funeral Home, P.O. Box 6, Marion, KS 66861.
