Titus Wingerd, 79

Titus M. Wingerd, 79, of Abilene, died Aug. 12 at Alterra Sterling House II in Abilene.

The funeral was Aug. 16 at the Martin-Becker-Carlson Funeral Home in Abilene. Burial was at Rosebank Church Cemetery, rural Hope.

He was born May 18, 1929, to Asa and Ruth (Bowers) Wingerd. On Jan. 30, 1966, he was married to Mary Arlene Hess, who survives.

He is also survived by son Nelson and Janel Wingerd of Albuquerque, N.M.; daughter Melinda and David Ridley of Belen, N.M.; four brothers, Dale Wingerd of Ramona, Eldon Wingerd of Ontario, Calif., Roy Wingerd of Albuquerque, and Edgar Wingerd of Westminster, Calif.; four sisters, Edna Hart of Upland, Calif., Cora Schultz of Northfield, Minn., Carol Hastings of Des Moines, Iowa, and Miriam Kruger of Ontario; and four grandchildren.

A memorial fund has been established with His Way Ministries, in care of the funeral home.
