Philip D. Karnowski, 84, marine, died March 5 in Hillsboro.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 11 at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Wamego. He will be buried at Wamego Cemetery.
He was born Oct. 24, 1923, to Peter Karnowski and Maybelle Weiss Karnowski in Paxico. On Oct. 23, 1999, he was married to Mildred Elizabeth Granada, who survives.
He is also survived by six sons, Philip Jr. of St. Louis, Mo., Paul and Marietta of Georgia, Mark of Hazelwood, Mo., John of Oregon, Peter of Manhattan, and Joseph of New York; a daughter, Mary Abahzy of New Port News, Va., Martha Boyd of Mechanicsburg, Pa., and Margaret Eades of Springfield, Ill.; sisters, Mary Dinkel of Topeka and Virginia Billings of Bonnersprings; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
