Wanda Hook, 60

Wanda Hook, 60, receptionist at Tippin Dental Group in Newton, died Sept. 30 at her residence in Hesston.

The funeral was Oct. 2 at Hesston Mennonite Church with pastor John Murray officiating.

She was born Oct. 11, 1946 to Raymond and Pauline (Paxton) Woods in Pratt.

On April 17, 1966, she was married to Arlis Hook, who survives.

She is also survived by her mother of Hillsboro; a son, Brian and Rachel Hook of St. Louis, Mo.; a daughter, Deborah and Marlin Hoge of Hesston; a brother, Douglas Woods of Tulsa, Okla.; and two grandchildren.

Memorial funds have been established with Hospice Care of Kansas and American Cancer Society.

 

Patty Juel, 49

 

Patty Louise (Maddox) Juel, 49, a homemaker, died Sept. 28 at her home in Bentley.

The funeral was Oct. 2 at Lamb Funeral Home in Whitewater with pastor Kenneth Smith officiating. Burial was at Whitewater Cemetery.

She was born Dec. 22, 1957, to Virgil E. and Margie (Evans) Maddox in Newton. On Dec. 20, 1992 she was married to Timothy Juel, who survives.

She is also survived by a son, Nichalus and Rebbecca McLaughlin on Lehigh; a daughter Francine and Matthew Hiebert of Hillsboro; a brother, Fred and Evelyn Maddox of Hutchinson; two sisters, Mary Jane and Jack Spratt of Whitewater, and Shirley ?Sammie? and Michael Woods of Hutchinson; and two grandchildren.

Memorial funds have been established with Heartland Home Healthcare and Hospice in lieu of flowers.

 

Evelyn Ollenberger

 

Evelyn Olsen Ollenberger, 93, of Marion, an employee for Case & Son Insurance Agency for 73 years, died Sept. 24 at the Golden Living Center in Marion.

The funeral was Sept. 28 at Eastmoor United Methodist Church in Marion, with pastors Mike Eurit and Rick Branson officiating. She was buried in the Marion Cemetery.

She was born July 17, 1914, to William C. and Elsie Sanders Olsen on a farm northwest of Marion. On Jan. 17, 1942 she was married to Albert W. Ollenberger, who predeceased her.

She is survived by a son, Bryce Ollenberger of Cathedral City, Calif.

Memorial funds have been established with Eastmoor United Methodist Church, St. Luke Foundation and the VFW Auxiliary Post No. 6958.

Sally Plenert, 94

 

Sally Plenert, 94, an employee of the hospital dietary department, died Sept. 30 at Parkside Homes in Hillsboro.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4 at Trinity Mennonite Church in Hillsboro. The burial will take place at 1 p.m. at Johannestal Cemetery in rural Hillsboro.

Visistation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3 at Jost Funeral Home in Hillsboro.

She was born Oct. 17, 1912, to John H. and Maria Janz Bartel in rural Hillsboro. On Oct. 17, 1941 she was married to Arlo Plenert, who predeceased her in 1961.

She is survived by a son, Dennis and Paula Plenert of rural Moundridge; a daughter, Sharolyn and Marlin Funk of rural Lehigh; a sister, Marie Guhr of Newton; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
