Deaths (Week of June 13, 2007)

Larry Hiebert

 

Larry Elliott Hiebert, 64, certified public accountant, died June 7.

The service was held June 12 at University Congregational Church in Wichita. Burial was in the Haven of Rest Cemetery in Hillsboro.

He is survived by his wife, Sheryl, a son, Mark H.W. Hiebert and wife E. Marlowe Wakeman; and his mother, Nell of Hillsboro.

A memorial has been established with the Cerebral Palsy Research Foundation.

 

Mary Wiens

 

Mary W. Wiens, 88, former associate professor of early childhood education at Tabor College, died June 4 at Parkside Homes in Hillsboro.

The service was held June 8 at Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church with pastor Dave Plett officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

She was born March 9, 1919, to Cornelius and Agnes (Dyck) Wall in Tschangrau, Russia. On Aug. 20, 1942, she was married to Ben J. Wiens, who survives in Hillsboro.

She is also survived by a daughter, Sandra K. Wiens and Robert Harms of Guilford, Conn.

Memorials have been established with the Center for Mennonite Brethren Studies and the Tabor College Elementary Education Scholarship Fund in care of Jost Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
