Daryl Allen

 

Daryl Gene Allen, 80, carpenter and construction, died Dec. 26 at Parkside Homes in Hillsboro.

A private service is planned, but visitation is from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 2 at Jost Funeral Home in Hillsboro.

He was born Jan. 4, 1928, to Bud and Gladys (Bowman) Allen in Council Grove. On Sept. 22, 1951, he was married to Roberta Meyer, who survives.

Other survivors are son Mike Allen of Wichita; daughter Tina Marie King of Hillsboro; brothers Dean Allen and Jack Allen, both of Council Grove, Larry Allen of Lawrence, Bob Allen of Laughlin, Nev., and Bill Allen of Kingman, Ariz.; sister Kay Bratton of Council Grove and six grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to WFC/Jim James Memorial 101 Club in care of Jost Funeral Home, 401 S. Washington St., Hillsboro, KS 67063.

 

Ray Funk

 

 

12-29-obit-funk.jpg Ray N. Funk, 84, business owner, died Dec. 27 at his home in Newton.

Services were at 11 a.m. Dec. 31 at Bethel College Mennonite Church in North Newton with pastor Heidi Regier Kreider officiating. Burial was at Haven of Rest Ceme?tery in Hillsboro.

He was born March 9, 1924, to Alvin R. and Elma (Schroeder) Funk in Newton. On Aug. 22, 1947, he was married to Betty Lou Weinbrenner, who survives.

Other survivors are sons Mark and Donna Funk of North Newton and Rodney Funk of Lehigh; daughters Jan and John Kelly of Newton, Miriam and Rick Siebert of Marshfield, Mo., and Carole and Marcus Brown of Cypress, Calif.; sister Fern and John Mishler of Ransom; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Bethel College athletic department or Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice in care of Peterson Funeral Home, 215 N. Main, Newton, KS 67114.
