Mildred Harding
Mildred Ann Harding, 84, died April 11 at Salem Nursing Home n Hillsboro.
Visitation is from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, at Jost Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
The funeral is at 10 a.m. Thursday at Hillsboro United Methodist Church with Nancy Douglas officiating. Burial is at Haven of Rest Cemetery in rural Hillsboro.
She was born Oct. 12, 1922, to Amon and Beulah (King) Yoder in Peabody. On Oct. 17, 1943, she was married to Don Harding, who died in 2002.
She is survived by a daughter, Karen and Steve Kealey of Abilene; two sisters, Mary Louise Ritter and Patsy McLendon; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with Hillsboro United Methodist Church.
Emma Mathis
Emma Jean Mathis, 78, died April 10 at Newton Medical Center.
The service was held April 14 at Petersen Funeral Home in Newton with Derrick Shepherd officiating. Burial was in Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Emporia.
She was born Feb. 11, 1929, to Clyde Charles and Waunetta May (Pyatt) Likins in rural Parsons. On Oct. 20, 1951, she was married to Marvin Mathis, who survives in Newton.
She is also survived by three sons, David of Hillsboro, Dan of Topeka and John of Richamond, Ky.; four sisters-in-law, Vinetta Chickadonz of Dennis, Freida Conrad of Parsons, Nadine Stevenson of Parsons and Patty Kimrey of West Mineral; a brother-in-law, Russell of Edwardsville; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with Center For Basic Cancer Research at Kansas State University.
Marvin Schmidt
Marvin Schmidt, 81, died April 12 at Manor Care in Wichita.
Services are at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 18, at First Wesleyan Church in Wichita and at 1 p.m. at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church Cemetery in rural Goessel.
He was born Oct. 10, 1925, to Peter F. and Elizabeth (Pankratz) Schmidt in Hillsboro.
He is survived by a sister, Selma Klassen in Manitowa, Wisc.
A memorial has been established with Kansas Elk?s Training Center in care of Miller Funeral Home in Goessel.
Lucille Thomson
Lucille May Thomson, 85, died April 8 at Buhler Sunshine Meadows Retirement Home.
The service was held April 11 at Burrton United Methodist Church with Larry Ankron officiating. Burial was in Canton Township Cemetery.
She was born May 10, 1921, to Chase and Albertha McClure Barb in Hartford. On Sept. 22, 1939, she was married to Ora Thomson, who died in 2000.
She is survived by a son, Dennis of Kimberling City, Mo.; a daughter, Virginia Robinson of Burrton; two grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; 13 step-great-grandchildren and 20 step-great-great-grandchildren.
Memorials have been established with Burrton United Methodist Church and Buhler Sunshine Meadows Retirement Home in care of Olson?s Mortuary in Canton.
