? Velber Keith Bevan, 83, retired from the Rock Island Railroad, died Aug. 26 at Hutch?inson.

The service was at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 30, at Marion Cemetery with military rites. A memorial service was at 2 p.m., also Friday, at Westside Baptist Church, 400 W. 12th St., Hutchinson.

Memorials may be made to the mission fund at Westside Baptist Church or to the Hutch?inson Hospice and sent in care of Zeiner Funeral Home, P.O.?Box 6, Marion, KS 66861.

? Carlos Edward Girk, 71, of Peabody and an oil field rig operator with Flowers Oil Well Service, died Aug. 26 at Peabody.

The graveside service was Aug. 30 at Prairie Lawn Cemetery with pastor Jim Pohlman officiating.

He was born March 31, 1942, to Edward and Cleo (Bowen) Girk at Waynesville, Mo. On June 16, 1962, he was married to Delores Girk, who predeceased him.

Survivors include sons Roy Girk and Curtis Girk, both of Peabody, and Travis Girk of Newton; sisters Erma Nellans and Geraldine Glenn, both of Peabody and three grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association and sent in care of Baker Funeral Home, 114 N. Sycamore, Peabody, KS 66866.

? Robert L. ?Rocky? Fitzmaurice, 83, a mechanic and farmhand of Lincolnville, died Aug. 31 at Medicalodges in Herington.

The graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 5 at White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Wichita. Visitation is from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4 at Zeiner Funeral Home, 205 Elm St., Marion.

He was born Nov. 12, 1929, to John and Blanche (Biles) Fitzmaurice at Little Rock, Ark. On May 18, 1948, he was married to Velma Raye Cannon, who predeceased him.

Survivors include sons Jim and Joe, both of Lincolnville; daughters Mary Jane Morrison of Marion, Julie Ann McMillan of Klamath Falls, Ore., and Paula ?Rusty? Love of Lincolnville; sister Judy Morris of New Mexico; nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
