? MARTIN R. HAJEK, 87,

a farmer and stockman, died Sept. 10 at St. Luke Living Center in Marion.

Services were Sept. 13 at Holy Family Parish, Holy Redeemer Church in Tampa.?Burial was at St. Mary?s Cemetery, Tampa.

She was born Dec. 9, 1923, to Stanley and Elsie Klenda Hajek in rural Tampa. On Sept. 17, 1949, he was married to Catherine Costello, who predeceased him.

Survivors include children John and Carla Hajek of Tampa, Mary and Walt Whitchurch of Pembroke Pines, Fla.; Susan and Dennis Rowley of Chesapeake, Va., Joan and Steve Hillyer of Shawnee and Diane and Steve Challacombe of Manhattan and 18 grandchildren.

? ERNESTINE M. HURDLE, 80,

of Florence, a retired administrative assistant, died Sept. 5 at Via Christi-St. Francis Hospital, Wichita.

Services were Sept. 9 at Florence Christian Church, West Fifth and Dean streets.

Burial was at Cedar Point Cemetery.

She was born Jan. 26, 1931, to Ernest and Gladys Fetrow Lespagnard near Cedar Point on the family farm.

Survivors include her companion, Harvey Wells, of Florence; step-daughter Patricia Hurdle Patterson of Independence, Mo.; siblings George and Anita Lespagnard of Haysville and Blanche Williams of Wichita, and their families.

? LINDA SUE McLAIN, 61,

a retired program technician, formerly of Marion, died Aug. 29 at Via Christi-St. Francis, Wichita.

Services were Sept. 1 at Marion Christian Church, Marion.

She was born Jan. 11, 1950, to Mr. and Mrs. Jay Larson. In 1968, she was married to Larry McLain, who predeceased her.

Survivors include daughter Jennifer and Mike Kelsey of Newton; sons Larry and Stephanie McLain Jr. of Shawnee and Jim McLain of Hesston; two sisters and six grandchildren.

? JUSTENE L. RALEIGH, 92,

a farm wife, died Sept. 9 at St. Luke Living Center in Marion.

Funeral services were Sept. 13 at Valley United Methodist Church in Marion. Burial was at McPherson City Cemetery.

She was born May 18, 1919, to Clive and Leona Rush Myers near Windom. On Aug. 3, 1940, she was married to Ralph Raleigh, who predeceased her.

Survivors include daughters Romona and Jerry Bratton of Alexandria, Neb., and Marcia and Garry Vogel of Marion; five grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

? ORLANDO H. ?ORIE? SCHMIDT,

88, a retired farmer, died Sept. 6 at Topeka.

A graveside and memorial service was Sept. 10 at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church with Pastor Steven Schmidt officiating. Burial was at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Cemetery.

He was born Dec. 6, 1922, to Henry H. and Agnes Nickle Schmidt of Hillsboro. On May 14, 1951, he was married to Erna Duerksen, who survives.

Other survivors include children Beverly and Nelson Schmidt of La Mirada, Calif., Yvonne and Galen Unruh of Topeka, Barbara and Nelson Banman of Topeka, Charles and Kathy Schmidt of McPherson, Emily and Keith Blackburn of Topeka, and John and Debbie Schmidt of Montgomery, Ala., 15 grandchildren and eight great- grandchildren.
