87, a homemaker, of North Newton, died Oct. 22, at Kidron Bethel in North Newton.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 27, at Koerner Heights Mennonite Brethren Church in Newton.

Visitation was Monday at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, 120 E. Broadway St., Newton.

Burial was at Greenwood Cemetery.

She was born July 28, 1922, to Jacob P. and Anna (Salaska) Nickel in Fairview, Okla.

She graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1941 and attended Wesley Hospital School of Nursing in Wichita. On March 9, 1944, she was married to Samuel H. Classen of Meade at the Ebenfeld Mennonite Church in Hillsboro.

In addition to being a homemaker, wife and mother, she helped her husband in the Shaklee business for many years. She was also the Kansas State Treasurer for Child Evangelism Fellowship and was an active member of Koerner Heights Mennonite Brethren Church.

Survivors include children Bev and Frank Willems of Newton; Ray and Jan Classen of North Newton; Mark and Linda Classen of Buhler and Luke and Ellen Classen of San Antonio, Texas.; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one sister, Jeri Schmidt, and nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the Kansas Child Evangelism Fellowship and the Union Rescue Mission in Wichita and sent in care of Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, 120 E. Broadway, Newton, KS 67114.

Anton Fast

97, of Goessel, died Monday, Oct. 19, at Mercy Hospital in Moundridge.

Services were held Oct. 28 at Goessel Mennonite Church, 109 N. Church St.

Miller Funeral Home, P.O. Box 96, Goessel, KS 67053, is in charge of arrangements.

 

Nell G. Hiebert

94, of Hillsboro, died Oct. 23.

Services are pending with Jost Funeral Home, Hillsboro.

 

Evelyn M. Regier

89, of Hillsboro, died Tuesday, Oct. 20, at Parkside Homes in Hillsboro.

Services were held Friday, Oct. 23, at Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church, 300 Prairie Pointe.

Jost Funeral Home, 401 S. Washington St., Hillsboro, KS 67063, is in charge of arrangements.
