Deaths (May 4, 2016)

• lois krause, 76, owner of a hair salon, died April 27 at Hillsboro Community Hospital.

A time to gather and celebrate her life was April 30 at Jost Funeral Home in Hills­boro.

She was born July 15, 1939, to Glen and Wilma (Bitner) Maltbie at Marion. On July 9, 1954, she was married to Andy Krause, who survives.

Other survivors include sons Doug Krause of Eldon, Mo., and Andrew and wife Amie Krause of Leander, Texas; daughter Angie and husband Victor Dearmond of Austin, Texas; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother Charlie Malt­bie of rural Salina; sisters Margie Osgood of Newton and Connie Parcal of Eldorado.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hos­pital and sent in care of Jost Funeral Home, P.O. Box 266, Hillsboro, KS 67063.

• robert j. navrat, 84, a farmer and franchisee, died April 27 at St. Luke Living Center, Marion.

The service was May 2 at Holy Family Parish, St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, Pilsen. Burial was at Pilsen Cemetery.

He was born July 9, 1931, to Mike and Helen (Ptacek) Navrat at Marion. On Aug. 11, 1958, he was married to Harriett J. Krasuski, but later divorced.

Survivors include children Sherida Navrat of Wichita, Michael Navrat of Marion, Monya Navrat-O’Donnell and husband Jeff of Boise, Idaho, C. Todd and wife Stephanie Navrat of Fairway and Elizabeth Navrat of Wichita; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Joan Navrat of Wichita; best friend and caregiver Elora Robin­son of Marion.

Memorials may be given to the Navrat Family Charitable Foundation and sent in care of Zeiner Funeral Home, 205 Elm, Marion, KS 66861.

• sharon k. wedel, Sharon K. Wedel, 73, a retired Avon representative and clerk for Pantry Plus, of Canton, died April 27 at McPherson Health and Rehab.

She was born Dec. 14, 1942, to Russell and Stella (Fortner) Ferguson. On June 10, 1961, she was married to Robert L. Wedel, who predeceased her on Aug. 31, 2006.

Survivors include sons Doug and wife Heidi and Brad and wife Paula, all of Canton; sister Georgia and husband Jim Unruh of Canton and four grandchildren.

The service is at 11 a.m. Monday, May 2, at Canton Christian Church, 111 N. Fifth St., Canton.

Burial will be at Canton Township Cemetery.

No visitation is scheduled.
