Deaths (May 31, 2017)

• david j. klenda, 66, of Yarmouth, Maine, former professional baseball player, died May 18 of cancer.

The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 5, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church at Pilsen.

Preceding the Mass at 10 a.m. is the rosary. Burial will be at Pilsen Cemetery.

He was born Oct. 23, 1950, to Martin and Magdalen (Tajchman) Klenda at Hills­boro. His wife, Brenda, survives. He also is survived by children J.J., Gina, Julian, Luke and Ambrosia; two grandchildren and 11 siblings.

Memorials may be made in Klenda’s name to the Yarmouth High School baseball team and sent in care of Zeiner Funeral Home, 205 Elm St., Marion, KS 66861, also in charge of arrangements.• OPAL MAE WALKER, 89, died Friday, May 26, at Marion Assisted Living. The funeral service will be at 9 a.m. Saturday, June 3, at Zeiner Funeral Home, Marion. Interment will follow at the Prairie Lawn Cemetery at Peabody.
