◼ ELVERA FERN DIRKS, 79, formerly of Topeka, died April 27 in Newton.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, May 8, at Shalom Mennonite Church in Newton. Visitation will be at Shalom from 6-8 p.m. Monday, May 7.

She was born Aug. 2, 1938, to Alfred and Susie (Redger) Jantz in Hillsboro. On Aug. 30, 1958, she was married to DeWayne E. Dirks, who survives.

Other survivors include three children Tammy (Dwight) Flaming of Hillsboro, Kelly (Karen) Dirks of Longmont, Colo., and Jeffrey (Christine) Dirks of Topeka; and eight grandchildren.

◼ MILDA REIMER, 99, died April 26 at Bethesda Home in Goessel.

A memorial service was at 2 p.m. Monday, April 30 at Bethesda Home in Goessel.

She was born Nov. 7, 1918, to Abraham and Katharina Buller Reimer in Goessel.

Survivors include sister, Linda Bartel and brother-in-law Harold Woelk, both of Goessel, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial gifts may be given to either the Bethesda Home or Goessel Mennonite Church in care of Miller-Ott Funeral Home in Goessel.

◼ virgil weber, 92, died April 27 at the Hillsboro Community Hospital.

The service is at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 2, at Strassburg Baptist Church.

Burial is prior to the service at 10 a.m. at the Marion Cemetery.

He was born March 28, 1926, to Jacob and Hannah (Baker) Weber at Hillsboro. On May 12, 1949, he was married to Anita June Seifert, who survives.

Other survivors include daughters Kathy Thomas (Jim) of Lee’s Summit, Mo., and Diane Bolton (Gary) of Council Grove; son Ron Weber (Sharon) of Hutchinson and four grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Strassburg Baptist Church, Salem Home, Hills­boro, or Hillsboro Com­mu­nity Hospital.

◼ john f. wiebe, 84, died April 23, at Hills­boro Com­mu­­nity Hospital, Hillsboro.

The service was April 27 at Parkview Mennonite Brethren Church, Hillsboro.

Burial was at Springfield Cemetery, rural Hillsboro.

He was born Feb. 19, 1934, to David V. and Martha (Frantz) Wiebe at Hillsboro. On Sept. 6, 1955, he was married to Caryl Friesen, who survives.

Other survivors are son Jon C. (Ellynne) Wiebe of Hillsboro; daughters Dorie (Linden) Thiessen of rural Hillsboro and Colene (Joel) Wiens of Porterville, Calif.; brother Raymond F. Wiebe of Hillsboro; sister Connie (Don) Isaac of Hillsboro; 14 grandchildren and five great­­-grandchildren.
