Deaths (March 15, 2017)

• cinda ellen becker, 66, of Roxbury, died March 9 at Salem Home in Hillsboro after a battle with ovarian cancer.

She was cremated, and a memorial service is planned at Temple Church in rural Gypsum at 11 a.m. March 25.

She was born Oct. 4, 1950, to Eilert and Virginia (Noble) Nagel at Goodland. On Dec. 20, 1970, she was married to Michael Becker, who survives.

Other survivors include children Tarah (Craig) Rankin of Desbarats, Can­ada, Joel (Crissa) Becker of Springtown, Texas, Anna (Wayne) Kingsley of Gyp­sum and Leah (Michael) Ottensmeier of Marion; sister Laura Martin of Port­land, Ore.; brothers Steve Nagel of Scott City and Rollie Nagel of Great Bend and 24 grandchildren.

• gary g. carroll, 78, of Rockwall, Texas, formerly of Florence, died March 6 at the Kansas Masonic Home, Wichita.

A graveside service is at 11 a.m. Friday, March 10, at Hillcrest Cemetery, Florence. Visitation is from 6:30 to 8 p.m., Thursday, at Zeiner Funeral Home, Marion.

He was born Nov. 12, 1938, to William “Red” and Pauline (Bishop) Carroll at Salina.

Survivors include wife Mary (Grimes) Carroll of Rockwall; children Mike Carroll (Tracy) of Marion, Patty Putter (Brad) of Marion and Heather Mueller of Newton; step-children Rodney Wolfe (Tammy) of Quinlan, Texas, Betty Bond (Roy) of Rockwall and Karen Terrell (Wayne) of Allen, Texas; 15 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

A memorial fund has been established for the (Florence) Advance Lodge #114 AF & AM, and may be sent in care of Zeiner Funeral Home, 205 Elm, Marion, KS, 66861.

• LARRY W. FRANK, 55, an oil field operator from Can­ton, died Feb. 23 at McPher­son Health and Rehab.

Cremation has taken place, and no services are scheduled at this time.

He was born June 30, 1961, to Loren and Wilma (Hager) Frank in Little River, but lived in Canton most of his life.

He is survived by two sons, Dustin of Inman and Austin of Canton; a daughter, Layla Frank of Canton; his mother of Canton; a brother, Victor of McPher­son; and a sister, Dianne Frank of Canton.

The Larry W. Frank Memorial Fund has been established in care of Olson’s Mortuary, 139 N. Main, Canton KS 67428.

• jacob delmore goossen, 90, died March 6 at Schowalter Villa at Hesston.

The service was at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 9, with family available at 9:30 a.m. prior to the service, all at Schowalter Villa Chapel.

Burial will be at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church Cemetery, Goessel.

Memorials may be sen to the Good Samaritan Fund at Schowalter Villa and sent in care of Miller-Ott Funeral Home, 107 S. Lancaster, Hesston, KS.
