Deaths (June 8, 2016)

• E. pauline monnich, 80, a homemaker, died June 4 at Parkside Homes in Hillsboro. The funeral is at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 9, at Zion Lutheran Church in Latimer. Visitation is from 6:30-8:30 p.m. June 8 at Zeiner Funeral Home-Herington Chapel.

She was born Oct. 14, 1935, to E. Paul and Verna E. (Lange) Schott at New Hamp­ton, Iowa. On March 31, 1957, she was married to Werner Monnich, who survives.

Other survivors include children Marcia and husband Clint Bartlett, Wanda and husband Donald Platz and Richard Monnich; four grandsons and two great-grandsons.

Memorials may be made to the St. John’s Cemetery Fund, Parkside Homes or Harry Hynes Hospice and sent in care of Zeiner Funeral Home-Herington Chapel, 404 S. Broadway, Herington, KS 67449.

• Glenn A. Schattak, 80, of Hillsboro, died June 1 at Via Christi-St. Francis Hospital in Wichita.

A graveside service was June 7 at Hillsboro Men­no­n­ite Brethren Cemetery, Hillsboro.

He was born Oct. 17, 1935, to Arthur and Helen Jantz Schattak at Hillsboro. His wife, Margaret, survives.

Other survivors include daughter Liane and husband Tracy Cope of Moundridge; brother Gary Schattak of Lyndon; sisters Jeanie Hellman of Hillsboro and Janice Bailey of Indiana­po­lis, Ind.; two granddaughters and extended family and friends.

• Barbara Lucille elrich wiebe, 88, a librarian and teacher’s aide, formerly of Hillsboro, died June 2 in of Clovis, Calif.

She was born Jan. 29, 1928, to John and Martha (Fast) Elrich. On July 11, 1947, she was married to Joel Wiebe, who predeceased her.

She is survived by daughters Barbara and husband Ralph Klein and Pati and husband Donovan Funk; son Jay and wife Annette Wiebe, eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
