? betty june dewey, 89,

a farm wife and teacher, died June 9 at Citizens Medical Center in Colby.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 19, at First Baptist Church, 503 SE 110th Ave., Ellinwood, with pastor David Wesner officiating.

Visitation was from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, with family present from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Kimple, Inc. Funeral Home, 113 N. Main St., Ellinwood.

Burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Eden Valley Cemetery, 1801 NW 20th Ave., near Seward in Stafford County.

She was born June 8, 1924, to Roy J. and Ruth Yocum Fertig at Radium. On July 21, 1946, she was married to Devon W. Dewey, who predeceased her July 31, 1999.

Survivors include sons Kenneth Dewey of Seward, Dennis Dewey of Kansas City, Mo., and Marvin Dewey of Sterling; daughter Rita Officer of McDonald; brothers Raymond J. Fertig of Ellinwood and Stanley R. Fertig of Saegertown, Pa.; sisters Lorene Jost and Irene Jost, both of Hillsboro, and Velma Root of Albuquerque, N.M.; 14 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or the Devon and Betty Dewey Ministerial Training Scholarship and sent in care of Kimple, Inc. Funeral Home, P.O. Box 246, Ellinwood, KS 67526, in charge of arrangements.

employed as a field test technician at Agco Corp., died June 16, 2013 at Goessel.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 20, at Goessel Mennonite Church, 109 S. Church St., Goessel, with pastors Brad Penner and Mike Hiebert officiating. Burial will follow at Goessel Mennonite Cemetery in Goessel.

Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, with the family present from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

He was born Aug. 19, 1939, to Emery and Anne Smith at Clifton. On Aug. 10, 1959, he was married to Mary Jane Dallen, who survives.

Other survivors include children Mary Ann McFadden of Peabody, Donata Girard of Newton, David Girard of Topeka and Daven and Jenny Girard of Goessel; his mother of Miltonvale; brothers Kenny Girard and Connie Girard both of Miltonvale; sisters Becky Guy of Clay Center and Bonnie Kohle of Miltonvale; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

The service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, June 24, at Eastmoor United Methodist Church, 105 Eastmoor Dr., Marion.

former owner of ?Edie?s Fashions,? died June 9 in Greeley, Colo.

A memorial to celebrate her life is planned for September in Hillsboro.

She was born Feb. 24, 1921, to Martin and Susie Helmer of Durham. On Jan. 30, 1942, she was married to Elmer Rempel, who predeceased her June 20, 2003.

Survivors include son Courtney and Esther Rempel; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.


? walter weber, 92,

of Abilene, died June 16 at Sedgwick Health Care Center in Sedgwick.

The service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 20, at Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church, 300 Prairie Pointe.

Visitation is from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Jost Funeral Home in Hillsboro.

He was born Oct. 29, 1920, to David and Elizabeth (Reh) Weber. On June 13, 1947, he was married to Dorothy Loewen, who survives.

Other survivors include sons Charlie and Jane of Santa Clarita, Calif., and John and Sherry of Lincoln, Neb.; daughters Kathy and Mike Nichols of Lincoln, Beth and Dan Spencer of Odessa, Texas, and Becky Kevin Harms of Wichita; sisters Noreen Hein of Lawrence and Lois and Loren Groening of Hillsboro; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
