Deaths (June 14, 2017)

• WILLIAM “BILL” GROSSE, 63, construction equipment operator and former county landfill manager, died at his home near Peabody May 26.

He was born Jan. 8, 1953, to Thomas and Mary Lou (Anderson) Grosse. On Sept. 4, 1975, he was married to Shirley Nonken, who predeceased him.

He is survived by two sons, Bryan and wife Lind­sey of Marion and Travis of Peabody, sisters Amy Bayes and Candace Green of Peabody, brother Steve Grosse of Newton and two grandchildren.

A private celebration of his life is forthcoming.

• alice koop, 90, of Hillsboro, died June 7 at Parkside Homes in Hills­boro.

The service was Tuesday, June 13, at Hillsboro Men­nonite Breth­ren Church. Burial preceded the service at 10 a.m. in the Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Ceme­tery.

She was born Sept. 30, 1926, to Jacob and Katherine (Friesen) Klassen at Hills­boro. On July 4, 1948, she was married to Harley Koop, who predeceased her in 2001.

Survivors include sons Roger (Lila) Koop of Shaw­nee and Murray (Coleen) Koop of Hillsboro; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Memorials may be made to the church in care of Jost Funeral Home, P.O. Box 266, Hillsboro, KS 67063.
