? sharlene lynette brooks, 45,

of Peabody, died June 8 at her home.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 15, at Peabody United Methodist Church, 403 N. Sycamore St., with pastor David Ragland officiating.

Visitation is from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, June 14, at Baker Funeral Home, 114 N. Sycamore, Peabody.

She was born Aug. 23, 1967, to LeRoy Frederick and Eleanor Louise Gaines Brunner in Newton. On Nov. 16, 1985, she was married to Harold Junior Brooks, who survives.

Other survivors include son Christopher Fredrick Brooks and daughter Heather Ann Brooks.

Memorials may be made to the Peabody Community Foundation and sent in care of Baker Funeral Home, 114 N. Sycamore, Peabody, KS 66866.

 

? Jeanette (Jean) M. Herbel, 73,

formerly a Tabor College student, died April 18 from pancreatic cancer in El Mirage, Ariz.

A memorial service was May 18 at the family home in El Mirage.

She was born Dec. 4, 1939, to Jacob and Frances Block at Reedley, Calif. While in Hillsboro, she was married in 1959 to Jerry Herbel, who survives.

Other survivors include children Carrie Herbel Greenwald, Jackie Gibson, Mitchell Herbel, and Michael Herbel; three grandchildren, sister Kathy Hamburger and brothers James Block, David Block and Timothy Block.

Donations may be made in her name to the Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research, www.lustgarten.org or the American Cancer Society.

 

? gerald kessler, 76,

died June 4 at his home in rural Lehigh.

The funeral was June 10 at Parkview Mennonite Brethren Church, Hillsboro.

He was born March 2, 1937, to Rudolf and Katherine (Kasper) Kessler in Hillsboro. On June 9, 1958, he was married to Joyce Thiessen, who survives.

Other survivors include son Lynn and Marie Kessler of rural Lehigh; daughters Renay and Phil Neufeldt of Buhler and Melanie and Rick Reed of McPherson and nine grandchildren.
