• dora louise Claas­sen, 97, died July 19, at Whitewater.

The graveside service was Friday, July 21, at Swiss Cemetery, Whitewater.

A memorial service is planned for 6:30 p.m. July 28 at the Swiss Church, 125 S. Oak, White­water.

• Gorman Lee Fred­erick­son, 71, Peabody, a retired English teacher, died July 18.

A celebration of life will be from 5-7 p.m. Sept. 30 at the Emporia Arts Council in Emporia. Cremation has taken place.

He was born Jan. 22, 1946, to Ralph and Marion Frederickson in Great Falls, Mont. On March 26, 1968, he was married to Faie Fergeson, who survives.

Others survivors include a son, Ty and Marcie Frederickson of Overbrook, and two grandsons.

• Vernon W. Hein, 77, a car salesman, died July 2 in Roseburg, Ore.

An inurnment service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 27, at the Marion Ceme­tery.

He was born July 20, 1940, to William “Bill” and Cath­erine M. Ruby Hein in rural Marion County. His wife, Ellen Goddard Hein, predeceased him.

Survivors include his mother; brothers Richard and Walter, both of Marion; sisters Phyllis Landis of Marion, Laura Wayman of Hutchinson, Catherine Camien of Emporia and Linda Brewer of Marion; stepchildren Chuck Hamm of Lawrence and Debbie Hamm of Albuquerque, N.M., and a step-grandchild.

• Faye Ann Kimball, 66, Hillsboro, a care giver to the disabled and elderly, died July 19.

A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 27, at Zion Lutheran Church in Hillsboro.

She was born March 15, 1951, in Shawano, Wis., to George and Lois (Diestler) Kimball.

Survivors include sons John (Jessica) Loch of Lockport, Ill., Tracey Kimball of Hillsboro and Steven Frederick of Birnamwood, Wis.; siblings Steven (Lynne) Kimball of DePere, Wis., Joan Kimball of Lindsborg, Karen Ducas of Green Bay, Wis., Diane Kimball of McPherson and Katherine Patterson of Clyde; and seven grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Faye Kimball Memorial Fund c/o Zion Lutheran Church, 106 N. Lincoln, Hillsboro, KS 67063.

• JUDITH MAE (KOCHEN­OWER) SCHMIDT, 73, died July 22 at Via Christi/St. Francis Hospital in Wichita.

The funeral will be 10 a.m. July 27, at Tabor Men­nonite Church in rural Newton with pastors Phil Schmidt and Rosie Jantz presiding.

Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. July 26 at Petersen Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 6:30-8 p.m. Burial will be in the Tabor Mennonite Cemetery.

She was born July 19, 1944, to Harold and Nina Kochenower in Newton. On Sept. 19, 1964, she was married to Ronnie Schmidt of Lehigh, who survives.

She also is survived by a daughter, Kim (Jerry) Lewis; a son, Craig (Jody) Schmidt; a sister, Joyce Campbell of Pedro, Ohio; a brother, Danny (Vicki) Kochenower of Newton; and seven grandchildren.

• geneva ruth price, 74, of rural Galva, died July 18 at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita.

The service was Monday, July 24, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Canton. Burial was at the church cemetery.
