◼ PEARL DELORES BRANDEWIEDE, 86, of Newton, employed as association secretary for Farm Bureau for more than 25 years, died Jan. 16 at the Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice Center of Via Christi Regional Medi­cal Center-St. Francis Cam­pus in Wichita.

The recitation of the Holy Rosary will be said at 6:30 p.m., Friday, Jan. 26, at the Broadway Colonial Funeral Home in Newton. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Newton. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Newton.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 1 p.m. Friday.

She was born Aug. 14, 1931 to Paul and Mary Fisher Hein at Durham. On May 9, 1958, she was married to Robert Frank Brandewiede, who survives.

Other survivors include son James R. Brandewiede and wife Cheryl of Hesston; daughters Debbie A. Casey and husband Larry, and Kathy S. Vieyra, all of Hutchinson; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

◼ ROBERT M. “BOB” JAMES, 85, retired from Santa Fe Railroad in 1988, after more than 35 years of employment, died Jan. 19 at Parkside Homes in Hillsboro.

A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 23, at Hillcrest Cemetery, Florence.

He was born Aug. 29, 1932, to Millard E. and Vel­ma (Mize) Hanes at Em­poria. On July 28, 1951, he was married to Betty Lou Efird of Florence, who survives.

Other survivors include children Deborah (Doug) Hanes-Nelson of Centralia, Ill., Neal (Eva) Hanes of Peabody and Phillip (Stan) Smith-Hanes of Ellis; brothers Larry (Peggy) and R.K. “Bud” (LeEsta) of Newton; sister Carolyn Skinner of Joplin, Mo.; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

◼ GORDON Malin, 82, an entrepreneur of Marion, died Jan. 16.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

He was born Sept. 21, 1935, to Arthur and Helen (Jost) Malin in Peabody.

Survi­vors include a son, Aaron (Rosalina) Malin of Still­water, Okla.; a daughter, Tonia (Michael) Elder of Round Rock, Texas; brothers Arthur of Stone Lake, Wis., Marty of Laredo, Texas, and David of Lehigh; a granddaughter and a grandson.

◼ JACK REGIER, 86, a farm­er, died Jan. 16 at Hills­boro Community Hospital.

The service was Jan. 19 at Hillsboro Menno­nite Breth­ren Church.

He was born July 4, 1931, to Herman and Esther (Pankratz) Regier at Hills­boro. On Oct. 14, 1951, he was married to Evelyn Funk, who survives.

Other survivors are sons Rex (Marion) Regier of Hills­boro and Gene (Theresa) Regier of Garden Plain; daughter Cheri (Troy) Shrum of Wichita; sisters Janet and Sonja Regier, both of Los Angles, Calif.; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
