Ella Marie Brose
Ella Marie Brose, 82, a homemaker of Marion, died Saturday, Dec. 26, at the Kansas Heart Hospital, Wichita.
A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 8, at the Marion Presbyterian Church at 2:30 p.m. with pastor Jeremiah Lange officiating. Burial will be in the Marion Cemetery.
She was born Oct. 31, 1927, in Marion, the daughter of Homer and Elsie (Stallwitz) Reinke. She was a 1945 graduate of Marion High School and attended Kansas State University.
On Feb. 20, 1950, she was married to John Leo Brose in Peabody, who survives. Her husband resides at Salem Home in Hillsboro.
The couple owned Brose Liquor Store in Marion, and she was a member of Marion Presbyterian Church, P.E.O. Chapter DB and the St. Luke Hospital Auxiliary. Among her hobbies and achievements, family members said, she was a talented pianist, avid antique collector, gardener and gourmet cook, who was always up for a game of bridge.
Other survivors include daughters Laura and Roger Williams of rural Florence and Lisa and Bart Brittain of Wichita and granddaughters Stacia Williams, Sarah Williams and Brooke Brittain.
She is also survived by brother Robert and Ilene Reinke of Wichita.
Memorials have been established with Marion Presbyterian Church or the P.E.O. Chapter DB Scholarship Fund and may be sent in care of Zeiner Funeral Home, P.O. Box 6, Marion, KS, 66861, also in charge of arrangements.

Services were held Thursday, Dec. 31, at First Mennonite Church, 102 South Ash St., Hillsboro.
