? michael j. childs Jr., 37,

a design engineer at Agco Corp., died Jan. 2 at his home in North Newton.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19 at the Agco Communications Center, 420 W. Lincoln Blvd., Hesston.

Memorials may be made to Caring Hands Humane Society and sent in care of Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, 120 E. Broadway, Newton, KS 67114, in charge of arrangements.

 

? Jack e. smith, 81,

a retired pastor and former owner of Jack Smith Shoe Shop in Wichita, died Jan. 5 at his home in Canton.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, at Canton Christian Church, 111 N. Fifth St. Burial was Jan. 7 at Canton Township Cemetery.

He was born Jan. 27, 1931, to Walter and Bertha (Koch) Smith of Fredonia. On June 8, 1996, he was married to Gymmie Anderson, who survives.

Other survivors include son Greg Smith of Wichita; stepson James Anderson of Wichita; daughters Jacquie Jeffreys of Arvada, Colo., and Gaylene Sawdy of Denver, Colo.; stepdaughters Mary Ann Blase, Susan Whyte and Jean Stone, all of Wichita, Carrie Coulter, Cheney, Wash.; brother Fred Smith of Ponca City, Okla.; four grandchildren; 10 step-grandchildren and six step-grandchildren.

? anna l. voth, 91,

a homemaker, died Jan. 10 at Mennonite Friendship Communities in South Hutchinson.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Jan. 16 at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church, 1304 N. Kansas Highway 15, Goessel, with pastors Linda Ewert and Steve Schmidt officiating. Burial will follow at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church Cemetery.

She was born Sept. 6, 1921, to Henry and Anna Hein Leppke of Marion County. On Sept. 5, 1941, she was married to Albert Voth, who predeceased her March 2, 1998.

Survivors include son Jerald and Patty Voth of Hacienda Heights, Calif.; daughters Beverly and Jay Wilbeck of South Hutchinson, Sheryl and Tim Gardner of Hutchinson; sister Gladys Esther Janzen of Hillsboro; six grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Mennonite Friendship Communities and sent in care of Miller-Ott Funeral Home, 303 E. Main, Goessel, KS 67053, in charge of arrangements.

 

? john c. weaver, 58,

employed with Gatesway Foundation in Tulsa, Okla., and formerly of Canton, died Jan. 14 at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 17 at Canton Christian Church, 111 N. Fifth St. Burial will be at McPherson Cemetery.

Visitation is from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16 at Olson?s Mortuary in Canton.

He was born July 8, 1954, to Arlee C. and Naomi S. (Morris) Weaver in McPherson.

Survivors include brothers Lloyd of Shawnee, Okla., and Gary and Pat of Muskogee, Okla.; sisters Florene Cross of Mannford, Okla., Jo Ann Meier of Canton, Naomi Morris of Hillsboro and Sharon Crouse of Lindsborg and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
