• Dale k. kohlman, 76, of Wichita, a retired hardware store own­­­er and nursing home administrator, died Dec. 30 at the Robert J. Dole Veterans Ad­ministra­tion Medical Center, Wichita.

A graveside service is planned for 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, at the Canton Town­ship Cem­e­tery.

He was born Aug. 7, 1940, to Walter C. and Alta (Keck) Kohlman in Marion County. On April 24, 1960, he was married to Madelyn Sue Mar­ston, who predeceased him in 1994. On Aug. 30, 1996, he was married to Rebecca Seward, who survives.

He also is survived by sons Jeffery (Barbara) of Cottonwood Falls, Gregory (Tami) of Wichita, Darrel (Paula) of Seneca and Cyle of Wichita; stepson Todd Schoeppel and stepdaughter Margo Tucker, both of Wich­ita; brothers Clarence and Har­old, both of Texas, and Larry of Wichita; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Memorials may be made to Kansas Honor Flights and sent in care of Olson’s Mor­tuary, 139 N. Main St., Can­ton, KS 67428.

• jeanne m. martanovic, 52, owner of an interior design painting company and office assistant at Marion County EMS, died Jan. 5 at Via Christi —St. Francis Hospital, Wichita.

The service was Monday at Blessed Sacrament Cath­olic Church of Wichita.

Burial was at the Gard Cemetery in rural Hillsboro.

She was born Oct. 24, 1964, to Lou Ann (Dentz) Trout and Jerry Hill at Alexandria, Va.

Survivors include fiancé John Goentzel of Marion; son Jack Martanovic of Denver, Colo.; daughter Ad­die Martanovic of Chicago, Ill.; her mother, father and his wife, Olga, of New Smyrna Beach, Fla.; brothers Michael Hill of Cleve­land, Ohio, and Johnathan Hill of New Smyrna Beach, Fla.

Memorials may be made to the Blessed Sacrament School and sent in care of Zeiner Funeral Home, 205 Elm St, Marion, KS 66861.

• PAUL H. PENNER, 91, former construction company owner and chairman of the Tabor College board of directors for many years, died Jan. 1 in Wichita.

The service and visitation were both at First Mennon­ite Breth­­ren Church, Wichita.

He was born Nov. 1, 1925, to Edna (Gaede) and Henry Penner at Ingalls. He was married to Olga Penner, who predeceased him after 53 years of marriage.

He is survived by wife Rose Marie Owens Penner; daughters Diana (Barry) Rau­gust and Sandra (Don­ald) Friesen; son Roger (Rebecca) Penner; sister Shirley (Penner) Friesen; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and step-children and step-grandchildren.

• Alta MAE SAVAGE, 93, longtime resident of Flo­rence, died Dec. 25 at Marion Assisted Living.

Cremation has taken place. The memorial service was Dec. 30 at the Chris­tian Church of Florence. A private burial was planned at Hillcrest Cemetery, Florence.

She was born March 24, 1923, in Florence, to Samuel and Florence (Piper) Robin­son. On Feb. 24, 1950, she was married to Loyd Savage, who predeceased her.

She is survived by five sons, Brad of Peabody, Ray (Susan) of Burns, Rex (Caro­­lyn) of Florence, Randy (Kelli) of Florence, and Ron (Becky) of Flo­rence; two sisters, Betty Williams of Flo­rence, and Ruth Udden of Texas; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
