Deaths (December 6, 2017)

• larry g. bartel, 71, of Hillsboro and owner of Bartel Construction, died Dec. 1 at Salina Regional Medical Center in Salina.

Celebration of life service is 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 7 at Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church and officiated by pastor Brian Allen. Burial will be in French Creek Cemetery rural Hillsboro. Family will receive guests from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Jost Funeral Home in Hillsboro.

He was born Jan. 26, 1946, to Albert and Anna (Penner) Bartel in Hillsboro. On Nov. 12, 1966, he was married to Yolanda Boese, who survives.

Other survivors include son Kevin (Jamie) Bartel of Hillsboro and two grandchildren.

• NETTIE DAILY, 92, of Marion and former vice president of Kansas State Bank, died Dec. 1 at Wesley Hospital in Wichita.

Visitation was 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 5, at Resthaven Mortuary, with a private family committal service on Wednesday.

She born on May 12, 1924, to Jonathan C. & Lena (Vogel) Ehrlich Sr. at Marion. On June 24, 1950, she was married to John Daily, who predeceased her in 2001.

Survivors include her brother, Harold Ehrlich; a nephew, Darryl Ehrlich; and nieces Janet Priddy and Carol Stevens as well as nieces and nephews on the Daily side.

• kenneth lloyd frey, 85, died Nov. 30 at Pine Village Retirement Center, Moundridge.

Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6, at Hesston Mennonite Brethren Church. Visitation was 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 5 with family present from 5-7 p.m. at Miller-Ott Funeral Home, Hesston.

He was born Jan. 20, 1931, to Mildor and Frieda (Schwartz) Frey.

He is survived by daughters Stephanie (Frey) Flaming and Delbert of Wi­chita, Vickie (Frey) Unrau and Lynel of Goessel and Joyce (Frey) Vaconcells and Roger, Sykesville, Md,; sons Emory Frey and Rhonda of Clearwater and Russell “Russ” Frey and Cindy of Hesston; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
