Deaths (August 30, 2017)

• KEVIN JOEL GRESHAM, 62, of Durham, owner and operator of Gresham’s Greyhound Farm, died Aug. 24 at Hillsboro Community Hospital in Hillsboro.

A private family service is planned.

He was born March 27, 1955, to Chester and Helen (Kennedy) Gresham at Em­poria. On May 31, 1974, he was married Javonni Sparlin, who survives.

Other survivors include son Chet Odie (Margaret) Gresham of Austin, Texas; one grandchild; brothers Mike of Helena, Mont., Steven of Alabama, Pat of Wichita, and Jeff of Sedgwick.

Robert Ebel • ROBERT “BOB” ARTHUR EBEL, 92, of Overland Park, a U.S. Army veteran and broadcast engineer, died Aug. 19 at his apartment in Mission.

A memorial service was Aug. 24 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Mission.A graveside service followed at Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens in Shawnee.

He was born June 22, 1925, in Hillsboro. On Oct. 28, 1953, he was married to Carol Jean Eulinger, who predeceased him.

Survivors include son Keith and daughter-in-law Susan Ebel of Lenexa, two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Memorials have been established with Trinity Lutheran Church in Mission or Metro Lutheran Ministry.
