Deaths (August 3, 2016)

• ethel j. ediger, 93, died July 28 at The Cedars Nursing Home at McPher­son.

The service was Aug. 1 at Zoar Mennonite Brethren Church with pastor Gary Jan­zen officiating. Burial was at Zoar Ceme­tery.

She was born Dec. 24, 1922, to Harrison and Emma (Janzen) Schroeder at Hills­boro. On Aug. 23, 1942, she was married to Albert L. Edi­ger, who predeceased her April 28, 2003.

Survivors include children Janiece (John) DeSocio of Seattle, Wash., Steve (Melanie) Ediger of Colley­ville, Texas, and David Edi­ger of Louisburg; son-in-law James Lafferty of Inman; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Zoar Mennonite Breth­ren Church Children’s Fund and sent in care of Buh­ler Mortuary, 120 N. Main St., Buhler, KS 67522, also in charge of arrangements.

• marjorie anita maltbie osgood, 80, a homemaker of Florence, died July 25 at Asbury Park, Newton.

The service was July 29 at Florence United Methodist Church. Burial was at Hill­crest Cemetery, Florence.

She was born July 21, 1936, to Glenn Warren and Wilma Anita (Glasscock) Maltbie at Marion. Her husband, Lawrence Max Osgood, predeceased her.

Survivors include children Theresa Danby (Brian) of Newton, Monica Graves (Michael) of Emporia, Con­nie Lang (William) of To­pe­ka, Anita Hind (Michael) of Newton, Lawrence Osgood (Phyllis) of Cedar Point and Michelle Nelson (Shane) of Cassoday; siblings Charles Maltbie Sr. of Beverly and Bertha Parscal of El Dorado; 20 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
