• Dean c. batt, 84,

an attorney, died Feb. 25 at St. Luke Living Center in Marion.

Services were March 26 at Eastmoor United Methodist Church, Marion. Burial was at Marion Cemetery.

He was born May 14, 1926, to Charles H. and Selma (Bauer) Batt. In 1946, he was married to Bettie Geis, who survives.

Other survivors include daughter Shelley and Paul Wiest and two grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to St. Luke Foundation or the Eastmoor United Methodist Church and sent in care of Zeiner Funeral Home, 205 Elm St, Marion, KS 66861.


• Paul B. Beisel, 89,

died April 3 in Hillsboro.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 7, at the First Mennonite Church, 102 S. Ash, Hillsboro. A graveside service will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Dorrance Cemetery in Dorrance.

He was born Feb. 1, 1922, to David D. Beisel and Mary (Major) Beisel in Dorrance. On Dec. 2, 1949, he was married to Naomi I. Bockelman, who predeceased him in 1999.

Survivors include sons David A. and Denise Beisel of Franktown, Colo., and Benjamin C. Beisel of Tampa; daughter Ruth M. Beisel of St. George; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the charity of the donor’s joice and sent in care of Jost Funeral Home, 401 S. Washington St., Hillsboro, KS 67063-1727.

• Donald m. sechler, 86,

a truck driver, died April 2 at Memorial Hospital, McPherson.

Services will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday at Canton Christian Church, 111 N. Fifth St., Canton. with pastor Gymmie Smith officiating. Burial will be at Canton Township Cemetery.

He was born Oct. 24, 1924, to Hugh and Mary Viola Plamann Sechler in Doniphan County. On Jan. 13, 1947, he was married to Betty E. Potter, who survives.

Other survivors include children Carolyn Sue Foley of Wichita, Michael Allen Sechler of Hillsboro, Steven Ray and Melissa Sechler of McPherson and Jo Ellen Wilson of Lyons; 13 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to either the Canton Christian Church or the American Cancer Fund and sent in care of Olson’s Mortuary, 139 N. Main, Canton, KS 67428.
