Deaths (April 19, 2017)

• helen maurine gobin, 89, of Derby, died April 15 at Parkside Homes in Hillsboro.

A graveside service is at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 25, at Isabel Cemetery in rural Isabel.

She was born May 31, 1927, to Arthur and Cora Gladys (Ammann) Banks at Isabel. On Aug. 22, 1948, she was married to Ray McClure, who predeceased her in 1994.

Survivors include daughters Sharolyn (Gary) Tib­betts of Hillsboro and Rhon­da Jean (Don) Baxter of Boone, Iowa; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and sister-in-law Eleanor Banks of Isabel.

• gaylen youk, 67, of Durham, died April 11 at Salem Home in Hillsboro.

The service was April 15 at Zion Lutheran Church, Hillsboro. Burial was at Dur­ham Park Cemetery in rural Durham.

He was born Aug. 9, 1949, to Leland and Lorene (Keller) Youk at Hillsboro.

On Sept. 23, 1988, he was married to Betty Meetz, who survives.

Other survivors include sons James (Rachael) Youk of Chillicothe, Ohio, Darrin Youk of Hillsboro and Paul (Brianca) Youk of Lawrence; stepsons Larry (Charlene) Siemens of Newton and Gary Siemens of Hawi, Ha­waii; stepdaughters Bren­da (Larry) Gronau of Newton and Christy (Miles) Harvey of El Dorado; sisters Shirley Carstens and Caro­lyn (Leon) Schmidt, all of New­ton, Mar­gie (J.B.) Geisler of Metairie, La., Sharon Kelsey of Mar­ion, Vickie (Doug) Huxman of Hillsboro and Laurie (Tom) Koslowsky of Hillsboro; 11 grandchildren two great-grandchildren.
