88, of Hillsboro and long-time resident of Shafter, Calif., died April 6 at Parkside Homes in Hillsboro.
Services were April 9 at Parkside Homes in Hillsboro with pastor Dave Plett officiating. Burial was at Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Cemetery.
She was born Nov. 29, 1921, to Ferd and Susie (Doering) Janzen in Hillsboro. On Nov. 27, 1941, she was married to Allen Bartel, who predeceased her in 1994.
She was a schoolteacher and member of Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church.
Survivors include son Larry and Eveline Bartel of Clovis, Calif.; daughters Karen and Gordon Wiebe of Hillsboro and Sandy Bartel of Hillsboro; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

90, formerly of Marion, died April 10 in Demorest, Ga.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 17, at Holy Family Parish, 415 N. Cedar, Marion, with Father Hien Nguyen officiating.
Visitation and rosary will begin at 7 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. respectively at Zeiner Funeral Home, 205 Elm St. Burial will be at Marion Cemetery.
She was born Nov. 20, 1919, to William Louis and Ella (Cerny) Silhan near Pilsen. On Aug. 9, 1952, she was married to Arnold Lester Holt, who predeceased her.
Survivors include son Terry and Ann Holt of Marion; daughters Jean and Robert Spear of Clarkesville, Ga., and Carol and Marshall Sealine of Marshall?town, Iowa; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

96, of Ellinwood, died April 11 at Ellinwood District Hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, April, 17, at St. John?s Lutheran Church in Ellinwood with pastor Jeff Frakes officiating.
Visitation is from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Kimple Funeral Home Inc., 113 N. Main, Ellinwood.
Burial will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at St. John?s Lutheran Cemetery, three and one-half miles north of Tampa.
He was born March 20, 1914, to Gerhardt and Wilhelmine Brandt Meyer in Tampa.
On June 24, 1947, he was married to Millicent Noel, who survives.
In addition to selling encyclopedias and doing accounting for individuals, he raised Hereford cattle and had a wheat farm in Tampa.
Some of his memberships included Lions Club and being a lifetime member of the Ameri?can Legion and VFW.
Other survivors include sons Edward and Barbara Meyer and Richard and Nicolette Meyer, all of Wichita; daughters Madeline and Frank Gabriel of Studio City, Calif.; Elaine and Peter DeTour-Spronken of Tucson, Ariz.; Natalie and Kenneth Windholz of Gorham; sister-in-law Alma Meyer of Tampa; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

101, of Lawrence, died April 9 at his home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 14, at the First United Methodist Church, 946 Vermont St., Lawrence.
A second service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Historic Mennonite Church next to Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Cemetery.
He was born Nov. 25, 1908, to Heinrich Dietrich and Aganetha Fast Rempel in Alexanderwohl, Ukraine. On Aug. 1, 1936, he was married to Mariana Lohrenz, who predeceased him in 2000.
Survivors include daughter Lucy Jean and Loring W. McAllister; son Robert Keith Remple; one grandson and many nieces and nephews.
