◼ VIRGIL L. BRITTON, 75, died Monday, Aug. 20.

No services.

He is survived by his wife, 7 kids, 14 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

◼ LILLIAN HIEBERT, 83, died Wednesday, Aug. 22 at Bethesda Home in Goessel.

Funeral Service 10:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 27 at Alexanderfeld Mennonite Church 1 mile West and 1 mile South of Hillsboro. Burial at the Church Cemetery. Family will receive guests from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the Church.

She was born March 6, 1935 to Ben and Justina (Friesen) Nikkel in Goessel. She married James Hiebert Sept. 18, 1955 in Inman. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include sons, Reginald (Lori) Hiebert of Rural Hillsboro, Richard (Bonnie) Hiebert of Rural Hillsboro, Terry (Barbara) Hiebert of Pecos, Texas, Kevin (Kayla) Hiebert of Rural Hillsboro; daughters, Sharon (Jim) Mininger of Willcox, Arizona, Jenny (Shawn) Horst of Bridgewater, Maine, Connie Hiebert of Hillsboro, Val (Tim) Litwiller of Rural Hillsboro, Darla (Kendall) Wenger of Rural Newton; brothers, Stanley (Judy) Nikkel of Rural Inman, Lee (Carol) Nikkel of Madrid, Nebraska; sister, Betty (Dale) Ensz of Inman; 30 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

A rosary service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 30 followed by mass at 11 a.m. at St. Nepomucene Catholic Church in Pilsen, Kansas.

Friends may call from 1-8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29 at Zeiner Funeral Home in Marion, Kansas.

She was born on April 4, 1933, in Kanopolis at the family home to Adam and Anna (Shiroky) Hill. She married Wencel (Jim) Holub on October 21, 1952.

She is survived by four children, Diana of Newton, James and wife Mary of Houston, Texas, Kenneth and wife Clara of Marion, and Wayne of Abilene; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
