Deaths (4-17-19)

◼ Roger A. Colgin, 60, of Canton died April 8, 2019, at Pleasant View Home, Inman after a lengthy illness.

The funeral service was at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 12, 2019, at the Canton Christian Church.

Interment was in the Canton Township Cemetery.

Friends called from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, April 11, 2019, at Olson’s Mortuary, Canton.

A memorial has been established with Pleasant View Home, Plaza Wing, in care of the Mortuary.

He was born on March 23, 1959, in Marion, the son of William H. and Joyce (Meyer) Colgin.

Survivors include sons, Craig Colgin (Gloria), Canton, Chad Colgin (Stephanie), Kannapolis, North Carolina, Kenny Colgin (Jamie), Galva and Nate Martens (Claire), Canton; a brother, Mike Colgin (Jo), Canton and six grandchildren.

◼ Michelle R. vogts, 56, of Parker, Colorado and formerly of Canton, died April 11, 2019 at her mother’s home in Canton.

The funeral service will be held at 11a.m. on Friday, April 19, 2019, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Canton.

Interment will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, April 18, 2019, at Olson’s Mortuary, Canton.

Memorials have been established with the Immanuel Lutheran Church or Cancer Research, in care of the mortuary.

She was born July 17, 1962 in Goessel, the daughter of Robert N. and Barbara (Wilkening) Vogts.

Survivors include her mother Barbara of Canton; adoptive parents, Don and Phyllis Elston, Wichita and Lowell and Ginette Janssen, Nebraska; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
