Deaths (3-13-19)

◼ LeRoy R. Klatt, 87, Canton, died March 3, 2019, at Pine Village, Moundridge.

Funeral service was at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, March 8, 2019, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Canton.

Interment was in the church cemetery.

Friends called from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at Olson’s Mortuary, Canton.

A memorial has been established with the Michelle Uptergrove (Klatt’s granddaughter) Kidney Transplant Fund, in care of Olson’s Mortuary, Canton.

He was born July 3, 1931, in rural Canton, to Karl and Marie (Janke) Klatt. On July 17, 1951, he married Evelyn Smith in McPherson.

Survivors include a son, Randy (Donna) Klatt, Canton; a daughter, Theresa (Robert) Carroll, Perryton, Texas; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

◼ Lonnie lee lemon, 68, rural Tampa, KS, died on Thursday, March 7, 2019, surrounded by family at his home.

Visitation will be held from 3-7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 12, 2019, at Stockham Family Funeral Home with the family receiving friends 5-7 p.m.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, March 13, at Udall Cemetery in Udall.

Memorial donations may be given to the American Cancer Society or American Lung Association in care of Stockham Family Funeral Home, 205 North Chestnut, McPherson, KS 67460.

He was born on June 11, 1950, in Winfield, KS, to Ralph Perry and Lois Marie (Adams) Lemon. He married Martha “Marty” Dianne Harmon on November 23, 1968, in Winfield, KS.

Survivors include his wife, Marty; three sons, Kevin Lemon (Lisa) of rural Tampa, Jeffrey Lemon of Fort Dodge, IA, and John Lemon (Dawn) of McPherson; nine grandchildren; sister-in-law, Hannah Cochran of Kenton, DE; and brother-in-law, James Schroeder of Canton.

◼ Genny abrahams, 76, died March 7, 2019 at Bethesda Home in Goessel.

A Celebration of Life Service was at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 9, 2019, at First Mennonite Church in Hillsboro with Pastor Jeremy Matlock Officiating.

The family received friends from 1 p.m. until service time at the Church on Saturday.

Interment was at Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church Cemetery after the service.

She was born March 25, 1942 in Hillsboro to Jacob and Annie (Loewen) Winter. She married Chuck Abrahams on December 2, 1960 in Hillsboro.

Survivors include husband, Chuck Abrahams of Goessel; son, Brad (Rose) Abrahams of Silver Lake, KS; daughter, Marci (Ron) Heidebrecht of Hillsboro; brother, Vernon Winter of McPherson; 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

◼ Rosse Case, 91, formerly of Marion, died Saturday, March 9, 2019 in Kansas City, Missouri.

The Service will be 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 17, 2019, at the Marion Presbyterian Church.

Memorials have been suggested to the Presbyterian Church, Marion Historical Museum, or the Marion Library in care of Zeiner Funeral Home, Marion.
