Vera l. dirks, 88, of Moundridge, died Sept. 25 at Moundridge Manor.

The service was Sept. 28 at Morning Star Mennonite Church, rural Tampa.

She was born Aug. 5, 1927, to Alfred and Mag?dalene (Koehn) Koehn at Greensburg. On Sept. 12, 1948, she was married to Melvin Dirks, who predeceased her in 2012.

Survivors include sons Bruce and wife Cheryl Dirks of Wellington, Colo., and Bradley and wife Joyce Dirks of rural Canton; daughters Charlene Becker of Moundridge and Don?nalee and husband Gavin Johnson of Piscataway, N.J.; 16 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren.

n gladys esther janzen, 100, died Sept. 25 at Salem Home in Hillsboro.

The service was Sept. 29 at Hillsboro United Metho?dist Church.

She was born Aug. 17, 1915, to Henry and Anna (Hein) Leppke at rural Marion. On Aug. 25, 1937, she was married to Irvin R. Janzen, who predeceased her in 1979.

Survivors include son Ralph Janzen of Hillsboro; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

n harold pankratz, 86, of Hillsboro, died Sept. 25 at Parkside Homes in Hills?boro.

The service was Sept. 29 at Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church.

He was born March 16, 1929, to Albert and Anna (Scheikosky) Pankratz at Hillsboro. On June 1, 1951, he was married to Esther Loewen, who survives.

Other survivors include son Glen and wife Betty Pankratz of Wichita; daughters Cheryl Olsen and Mylene Serpan, both of Sedgwick; brother Paul and wife Sheryl Pankratz of Bellavista, Ark.; sisters Marjorie and husband Ray Just of rural Hillsboro and Marilyn Nealy of Titusville, Fla.; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

n jack russell ware, 87, a retired postmaster, died Sept. 26, at Parkside Homes in Hillsboro.

The family will have a private burial of the ashes at the Highland Cemetery in Junction City.

The service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 2, with Norman Simmons officiating at White City United Methodist Church, White City.

Visitation with family begins at 10 a.m. Oct. 2 at the church, prior to the service.

He was born Feb. 23, 1928, to Lane and Emma Roesler Ware at Junction City. On Jan. 16, 1949, he was married to Marjorie Jean Blair, who predeceased him in January 1994. On March 17, 1997, he was married to Lola Blythe, who survives.

Other survivors include daughter Julie and husband Richard Ekholm of Inman; son-in-law Mark Winters of Kansas City, Mo.; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; stepchildren Duane and wife Debbie Blythe of White City, Laurie and husband Doug Cook of Bartlesville, Okla,, Susan and husband John Harris of Chapman and 10 step-grandchildren.

n sharon kristine wasemiller, 58, died Sept. 27 at Lehigh. The service is at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 2, at Zion Lutheran Church, Hills?boro.

She was born May 18, 1957, to Kenneth and Helen (Ataberry) Maples at Long Beach, Calif. On July 24, 2004, she was married to Sid Wasemiller, who survives.

Survivors include her mother, mother Helen Maples of Wichita; sons Sam Dial of Mulvane, Zech?ariah Petersen of Hillsboro and Christian Petersen of Wichita; daughter Brandy Dial of Wichita; brothers John Maples and Lee Maples, both of Wichita; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild and.
