? LARRY FUNK, 68, of Hillsboro and co-owner of Funk?s Supply, died Sept. 29, at Asbury Park in Newton.

The funeral was Oct. 3, at First Mennonite Church, 102 S. Ash St., Hillsboro, with pastor Susan Jantzen officiating.

He was born Feb. 5, 1946, to Allen J. and Leona (Wiens) Funk at Hillsboro.

Survivors include sons Sam and wife Michele Funk of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Chad Funk of Hillsboro; daughter Cassandra and husband Larry Loutzenhiser of Lyons; brothers Lester and wife Donna Funk of Marion and Ron Funk of Hillsboro; sisters Joyce and husband Lee Ediger of Moundridge and Jeanette and Dan Schaefer of Hillsboro and four grandchildren.

? THOMAS FRANCIS MEADE, 81, died Oct. 4 at Pine Village in Moundridge.

The service will be Dec. 13 in Virginia.

He was born July 8, 1933, to Thomas Francis and Annette (Kupfer) Meade at Flushing, N.Y.

Survivors include wife Judith Meade of Purcellville, Va.; sons, William of Reston, Va., Richard of Abingdon, Md., Michael of Miami, Fla.; daughters Mary Bostic of Hillsboro, Annette Vernail of Purcellville, Va.; 11 grandchildren and two great- grandchildren.Online condolences at

? DOLORES M. OTTENSMEIER, 84, formerly of Marion, died Sept. 30 at Asbury Park, Newton.

A graveside service was Oct. 3 at Marion Cemetery.

She was born March 23, 1929, to John and Ellen Edmunds at Marion. On May 7, 1950, she was married to Elmer John Ottens?meier, who predeceased her.

Survivors include daughter Cherri Jean Brandenberger of Newton; son Mark Alan and wife Lisa Ottensmeier of Broken Arrow, Okla.; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

? DARLENE L. UNRUH, 86, died Oct. 5 at Parkside Homes in Hillsboro.

The service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 9, at United Methodist Church in Hillsboro. Burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Peace Valley Cemetery in rural Durham.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Jost Funeral Home in Hillsboro and 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday.

She was born Sept. 29, 1928, to Alfred and Susie (Jantz) Redger at Tampa. Her husband, Leonard Unruh, predeceased her in 1987.

Survivors include sons Terry of Hillsboro, Keith and wife Wanda of Assaria and Daryl of Lenexa; sister Elvera and husband Dewayne Dirks of Berryton; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Burial was at Greenwood Cemetery, Newton.

She was born March 14, 1944, to Noah Dean and Mary Elizabeth (Frantz) Unruh at Cordell, Okla.

Survivors include sister Margaret and husband Don Davis of Overland Park; one niece; three great-nieces; two great-nephews and cousins.
