? ELLA BERG, 84, died Jan. 29 at Hillsboro Community Hospital in Hillsboro.

Celebration of Life service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, Feb. 6 at Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church, 300 Prairie Pointe. Family will receive guests from 6 to 8 Thursday at Jost Funeral Home in Hillsboro.

She was born to Karl and Bertha (Funk) Reddig in Luster, Mont.

Survivors include: husband, Elton Berg of Hillsboro; sons, Steven (Sandra) of Wichita, Samuel (Lisa) of Ozark, Mo., David of Yale, S.D.; daughter, Deborah (Todd) Reynolds of Woodinville, Wash.; 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by brothers, Calvin and Wilmer, and sister, Esther Reddig Zerbe.

? CHARLES GUNTER, 84, a retired firefighter in Wichita and member of the Hillsboro American Legion, died Jan. 25.

The service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10 at the Hillsboro United Methodist Church.

Military honors will be at Lakeview Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. the same day.

He was born June 26, 1930, to Milton and Margaret Gunter at Woodbine. His wife, Marcene, predeceased him.

Survivors include Gwen and husband Victor Rose and Lucinda and husband James Epley; sister Sharon and husband Jerry Volkman; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

? BETTY J. (REMER) SCHMIDT, 90, of Goessel, died Jan. 20 at Bethesda Home in Goessel.

A graveside service was Jan. 27 at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church Cemetery. The memorial service followed at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church, Goessel, with pastors Linda Ewert and Steve Schmidt officiating.

She was born Feb. 28, 1924, to John A. and Justine Enz Reimer at Goessel. On May 9, 1946, she was married to Harvey K. Schmidt, who predeceased her on Jan. 12, 1995.

Survivors include children Bruce K. and wife Eileen Schmidt, Barbara and husband Russell Abrahams, James ?Jim? K. and wife Mary Schmidt and Karen and husband Duane Unruh, all of the Goessel area; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

? VICTOR RAY WINTER, 70, of Allen, a meat cutter at Iowa Beef Processors, later retiring from McDonalds Restaurant in maintenance, died Jan. 26 at Stormont-Vail Hospital, Topeka.

The funeral was Feb. 2 at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia, with Lee Hoskins officiating.

A graveside service was Feb. 2 at Marion Cemetery with pastor Dan Ferguson of Eastmoor United Methodist Church officiating.

He was born Oct. 6, 1944, to Ruben and Ella (Ebel) Winter at Marion. He was married to Roberta Sue Hansen. They later divorced.

Survivors include son Robert Winter of Topeka; daughter Victoria and Jeremy Heinen of Lenexa; brother Earl Winter of Marion; sister Kathy Silhan of Pilsen and one grandchild on the way.
